This painting will be up for auction at the Salmagundi Club’s 2011 Fall Auction to be held at 47 Fifth Avenue, New York on Friday, October 28th, starting at 8:00p.

Last June I spent a wonderful day with friends in Montepulciano, and these hens were running around the courtyard of the Avignonesi vineyard where we had a fantastic outdoor lunch and wine-tasting – and this pastel is the result.

The Salmagundi Club Fall Auctions are a great way to view and bid on high quality original fine art by nationally known artists. Bidding on all works starts at 1/3 the value of each piece! You can also bid online for any work in the auctions by going to: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/browse/seller/salmagundi
